How can I sabotage my health and fitness goals? Part 3

This is the third and final part of a three part series highlighting nine ways that you can totally sabotage your health and fitness goals without setting foot in a gym or even leaving the house.

If you missed part two, then find it here.

If anything on this list rings true with you then get in touch with us and let us know how we can help you.

7 – You follow a set meal plan

A set meal plan can be useful, but as soon as there is some variance in timings, preference or food availability there is a tendency for people to completely fall off the wagon.  What happens if your meal plan says you’ve got to eat 100g of salmon for breakfast but you don’t have any in the house? Or what happens if you don’t even like salmon?  Set meal plans tend to set people up for failure as they become very pass/fail rather than being flexible and based around education.

8 – You don’t experiment with different ideas

Einstein is credited with the idea that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different outcomes.  If you’ve been eating a certain way for a while and haven’t moved closer to your goals, whether they’re performance, aesthetic or health based, then maybe it’s time to try something new out.  What’s the worst thing that could happen?!

9 – You don’t ask for help

There is an African proverb that says “If you want to go fast, go alone.  If you want to go far, go together.”  No one person has all the answers and anyone who says that they do must inevitably be wrong.  If you’re stuck then reach out and ask one of the staff at SCFIT if they know how to help you – they’ll either help you themselves or point you towards someone who can.
